Gesalife activates first ANDRITZ neXline crosslapped spunlace system, hitting 1,000 kg/hour output and 130 m/min crosslapper speed

(IN BRIEF) Hubei Gesalife Industry Co., Ltd. has commissioned its first ANDRITZ neXline spunlace line in a crosslapped configuration, achieving stable, efficient operation since late 2024. The line can produce up to 1,000 kg/hour of spunlace roll goods, with a crosslapper speed of up to 130 m/min. This integrated setup aligns with Gesalife’s existing wipes and hygiene converting operations, enabling it to meet increasing demand for spunlace materials. Gesalife Chairman Li Jun called the project a major leap for the company, while ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile China GM Yanguo Lu reaffirmed the supplier’s dedication to supporting leading local firms with customized service and technical expertise. Established in 2021, Gesalife already delivers significant annual volumes of medical nonwovens, breathable composite films, spunlace nonwovens, and wet/dry wipes.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 22-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Hubei Gesalife Industry Co., Ltd. and international technology group ANDRITZ have completed start-up of Gesalife’s first neXline spunlace line in a crosslapped layout, marking a key milestone for the Chinese hygiene specialist.

According to Chairman Li Jun, the new line—and the broader partnership with ANDRITZ—represents a significant step forward for Gesalife’s innovation agenda and future expansion plans.

Brought online at the end of 2024, the fully integrated neXline spunlace system has been running with notable stability and efficiency. The line is capable of turning out up to 1,000 kilograms per hour of high-quality spunlace roll goods. Its crosslapper operates at speeds reaching 130 meters per minute, underscoring the sophistication of ANDRITZ’s equipment and automation.

By adding this capability, Gesalife can better synchronize spunlace roll goods production with its established wipes and hygiene converting operations, positioning the company to respond rapidly to growing demand for spunlace materials.

Yanguo Lu, General Manager of ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile China, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering leading domestic players like Gesalife through tailored services and comprehensive technical backing—support aimed at advancing China’s nonwovens industry as a whole.

Founded in January 2021, Hubei Gesalife manufactures a broad portfolio of hygiene and medical products, including disposable medical supplies and protective gear. The company’s annual capacity includes 12,000 tons of premium medical nonwovens, 12,000 tons of breathable composite films, 6,000 tons of spunlace nonwovens, and 21 million packs of wet and dry wipes—demonstrating a strong focus on quality and continuous innovation.
