Four Zumtobel products were given the iF product design award 2013 in Munich

Dornbirn / Austria, 6-3-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Four Zumtobel products were given the iF product design award 2013 in Munich on 22 February. The Discus Evolution spotlight system, the Elevo LED spotlight, the Pan recessed LED luminaire and the Onlite Puresign 150 escape sign impressed the jury with outstanding product design and efficient lighting technology. In addition, Discus Evolution received the iF gold award for exceptional design achievements.

Zumtobel was also successful at the German Design Award 2013. The LED lighting system Microtools and the LED spotlight series Iyon both won awards in the Goods and Materials category. Microtools LED lighting heads are currently the smallest available on the market and set new standards in shop lighting. The Iyon spotlight series incorporates cutting-edge LED technology. Its unique lens/reflector system allows high-precision, uniform accent lighting with a variety of beam patterns.

About the iF award
The iF awards rank among the most important design accolades worldwide. They are conferred according to strictly defined criteria by independent juries comprised of internationally renowned designers, entrepreneurs and professors. Every year, the best designs from innovative companies are recognised in the various categories. The iF award is seen as an indicator of the future direction in design development and product innovation. A total of 3,011 products from 1,920 participants were submitted. Of these, 981 entries won awards. Among the award winners, 75 were also presented with the iF gold award at the ceremony in Munich.

About the German Design Award
The German Design Award is the German Design Council’s international premium prize. The jury is comprised of 30 design specialists from different fields of expertise who this year judged 1,500 entries. The official award ceremony was held in Frankfurt in mid-February 2013.
