(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 9-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Ericsson has signed a new multi-year Managed Services contract with Bharti Airtel, marking a significant step forward in their enduring collaboration and highlighting Ericsson’s position as a global leader in network management. The agreement, focused on Network Operations Center (NOC) Managed Services, reflects both companies’ shared vision to deliver next-generation connectivity experiences to customers across India.

As part of this strategic deal, Ericsson will deploy intent-based operations through its centralized NOC to manage Airtel’s services nationwide. These include Airtel’s expansive 4G and 5G networks—spanning both Non-Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) modes—along with Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), Private Networks, and advanced Network Slicing capabilities.

The contract will see Ericsson manage Airtel’s entire network infrastructure across India using cutting-edge NOC capabilities, while simultaneously supporting the operator’s efforts to scale FWA and introduce new slicing services that address diverse enterprise and consumer needs.

Randeep Sekhon, Chief Technology Officer at Bharti Airtel, commented, “Our deepening engagement with Ericsson reflects our determination to build a network that’s both future-ready and capable of delivering superior customer experiences. As data consumption continues to grow in a digital-first India, these technologies will allow us to address that demand more effectively.”

Andres Vicente, Head of Market Area Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India at Ericsson, added, “This landmark agreement is another testament to our strong relationship with Bharti Airtel and our unwavering commitment to enabling transformative connectivity. With Intent-Based NOC operations, Airtel can accelerate innovation, expand its service offerings, and unlock new streams of revenue.”

The Ericsson-Airtel partnership spans more than 25 years and has seen both companies collaborate through multiple generations of mobile technology. This latest announcement follows their recent cooperation on 5G Core initiatives, solidifying their joint focus on driving India’s digital evolution.
