Energiekontor Secures Financial Close for First Two Solar Park Projects in France as Part of Expansion Strategy

(IN BRIEF) Energiekontor AG, a leader in wind and solar energy projects, has successfully achieved financial closure for two solar park projects in France, marking a key milestone in its expansion into the French market. Located in the Occitania region, the Rignac and Lachapelle-Auzac solar parks will have a combined generation capacity of 40 megawatt peak. Energiekontor secured building permits for these projects in early 2024 and recently finalized financial close, allowing work to commence. The projects are part of the company’s broader strategy to increase regional diversification and growth, with additional applications for 130 megawatt peak currently in the approval process.

(PRESS RELEASE) BREMEN, 21-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Energiekontor AG, one of Germany’s top developers and operators of wind and solar energy projects, based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, has achieved a significant milestone with the financial closure of its first two solar park projects in France. With this successful step, the company can now begin the construction phase of the projects, which will ultimately be transferred to Energiekontor’s portfolio upon completion.

In the first quarter of 2024, Energiekontor obtained the necessary building permits for the Rignac solar park (EKF Parc Solaire Dongay) and the Lachapelle-Auzac solar park (EKF Parc Solaire Le Batut) in the Occitania region, located in the south-east of France. These projects, with a combined generation capacity of approximately 40 megawatt peak, were part of the French tendering process for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems (PPE2 Sol P6), managed by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) in autumn 2024. The tariffs for electricity generated from the solar parks are secured for 20 years, with an annual inflation adjustment.

Energiekontor’s CEO, Peter Szabo, expressed pride in the company’s progress, stating, “Advancing our projects into the realisation phase is a key component of our 2023-2028 growth strategy. These are our first two solar projects in France, and we’re thrilled to move forward with them. We have been building a strong project pipeline in France and continue to push forward, unlocking substantial growth opportunities while expanding our regional presence.” Furthermore, Energiekontor has already submitted building applications for an additional 130 megawatt peak in France, which are currently under approval.
