(IN BRIEF) DHL Group has signed an MoU with e-commerce marketplace Temu to deepen their partnership and support local SMEs in both established markets and growth regions such as Eastern Europe and the Middle East. By harnessing DHL’s global logistics expertise—including air freight, multimodal transport, and last-mile delivery—Temu’s local-to-local initiative is set to drive more efficient and compliant trade. This initiative is expected to generate up to 80% of Temu’s sales in Europe while enabling local sellers to access global markets. Both companies emphasized their commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance, aiming to expand their impact across the EMEA region.

(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 5-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with e-commerce marketplace Temu to strengthen their partnership and drive market growth for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in both established and emerging regions. This collaboration aims to enhance logistical efficiency and promote compliant trade, with a special focus on expanding into growth markets such as Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Under the agreement, DHL Group will leverage its extensive logistics expertise—including multimodal transportation solutions, air freight, and last-mile delivery services—to support Temu’s operations across Europe. This support will be particularly instrumental in Temu’s local-to-local initiative, which is designed to empower local merchandise partners by facilitating regional fulfillment and is expected to eventually generate up to 80% of its European sales. Additionally, the platform will enable European sellers to tap into global markets, providing SMEs with the tools needed to scale and expand their operations.

“We are thrilled to elevate our partnership with Temu,” said Katja Busch, CCO and Head of DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation. “By merging our logistics capabilities with Temu’s innovative platform, we will create more efficient, compliant, and convenient solutions that benefit consumers and local businesses alike.” Qin (Dada) Sun, co-founder of Temu, added, “This letter of intent is a significant step forward. DHL’s vast network and expertise will be critical in supporting our mission to broaden consumer access to affordable products and to drive new growth opportunities for sellers.”

The MoU underscores both parties’ commitment to sustainable practices and regulatory compliance while fostering market expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
