Dassault Aviation completes certifications of FANS 1/A+ for its Falcon 900A/B and 900C/EX aircraft

Saint-Cloud, France, 27-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Dassault Aviation has completed certifications of FANS 1/A+ for its Falcon 900A/B and 900C/EX aircraft.

Obtained in association with Honeywell, the approval will allow operators to meet worldwide mandates for preferential routing in the North Atlantic tracks region and other oceanic airspace, greatly improving communications over oceanic and other remote routes.

FANS 1/A+ provides new functionalities like the Automatic Position Reporting (ADS-C) intended to reduce traffic congestion, increase the accuracy of position reporting, reduce pilot and flight crew workload, and facilitate clearer and more accurate communication between the pilot and air traffic controllers.

“As part of its policy of continually investing in improvements to its Legacy fleet, Dassault is actively committed to delivering enhancements and upgrades like FANS 1/A+ that are optimized for the Future Air Navigation System (NextGen),” said Jacques Chauvet, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Customer Service. “And by investing in such improvements, we not only position ourselves to meet customer expectations, we ensure their aircraft maintain their market value for decades to come.”

The upgrade is designed to operate with Dassault’s Falcon Elite II/Select II avionic suites for the Falcon 900 non-EASy fleet, and is backed by the company’s worldwide product support network.

The STC is available from Dassault’s network, and can be installed by any Dassault Service Center or Authorized Service Center. The installation takes approximately two weeks but downtime can be optimized if combined with a maintenance check.
