(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 17-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — CTP, Europe’s leading industrial and logistics property developer, owner, and manager, has unveiled an exciting new project in partnership with Hitachi Energy at CTPark Brno in the Czech Republic. The €57 million investment in the first phase of the project will see the creation of a cutting-edge high-voltage products factory, spanning 50,000 square meters. With an anticipated yield on cost (YoC) of over 10%, CTP also plans to further enhance the industrial park with a unique campus designed to diversify the range of services on offer.

The new factory will focus on producing gas-insulated lines (GIL) and components for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), essential components for the transmission and distribution of electricity. The expanded facility will introduce state-of-the-art production technology, including advanced friction stir welding equipment, a robotized powder coating facility, and a new service center to support the manufacturing process.

Designed to meet the highest standards of quality, the factory will be equipped with automated systems for temperature, lighting, and humidity control to ensure an optimal and comfortable working environment. The project is expected to generate approximately 200 new jobs. A notable feature is the underground parking garage beneath the hall, providing convenient access for employees.

Sustainability is a core aspect of the project. The production building will incorporate heat pumps and solar panels, ensuring high energy efficiency. CTP has set its sights on achieving the prestigious BREEAM Outstanding certification for this development, reflecting the project’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable construction practices.

In addition to the factory, CTP plans to develop an adjacent campus designed to foster collaboration and provide an enriching environment for both employees and visitors. The campus will include office spaces, residential buildings, a café, and other amenities, as well as versatile CTBox units for showrooms, administrative offices, warehouses, and production spaces. This concept aims to create a dynamic and comfortable atmosphere, promoting a sense of community within CTPark Brno.

The partnership between CTP and Hitachi Energy dates back to 2014 when Hitachi Energy first leased 15,000 square meters at CTP’s facility. Over time, the company has expanded its operations within CTP’s properties, driven by its leadership in the power and automation industry. Hitachi Energy’s portfolio includes pioneering technologies that prioritize renewable energy and the digitalization of power grids, with a strong emphasis on reducing environmental impact.

Pavel Kovář, Country Managing Director of Hitachi Energy for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, emphasized the importance of the Brno facility: “This factory exemplifies our commitment to scaling up our global production capacity to meet the rising demand for clean energy solutions. The new project at CTPark Brno will serve as an ideal base for the production of our eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio, which eliminates the use of SF6 – one of the most potent greenhouse gases. Our investment of over 1.1 billion CZK will enhance our production capabilities and help meet the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions.”

Michal Dospěl, Regional Construction Director at CTP, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “We are excited to deliver this ambitious project for our long-standing partner, Hitachi Energy. This state-of-the-art facility at CTPark Brno reflects our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We believe it will contribute to the continued growth of our park, offering a modern working environment that supports the growth and development of both our clients and employees.”
