(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 13-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Dutch logistics provider Cornelissen Transport has recently placed an order with MAN for 27 electric trucks, marking a significant step in its drive toward sustainable operations. The order comprises 25 MAN eTGX tractor units equipped with spacious GM cabins and two MAN eTGS trucks, all set to primarily service supermarket deliveries—a segment where electric drives are gaining increasing importance. This new addition will enhance Cornelissen’s fleet, which already boasts approximately 600 heavy-duty trucks and 100 vans.

Peter Leegstraten, Head of Purchasing and Innovation at Cornelissen, emphasized the company’s commitment to electrification, noting that the investment aligns with their belief in a cleaner future and predicting that electric trucks will become more cost-effective than diesel models around 2027 or 2028. The choice of MAN was driven not only by their innovative concept and ability to meet delivery deadlines but also by their robust service network, which gives the company full confidence in ongoing support.

Drivers have responded enthusiastically to the MAN eTGX units, particularly praising the comfortable GM cab and the compact design with a 375 cm wheelbase that enhances maneuverability—ideal for navigating supermarket distribution routes. Additionally, the trucks offer dual charging connections, a range of about 450 kilometers, and are pre-equipped for megawatt charging, which is critical for maintaining full shifts with rapid charging within an hour. The first of these electric trucks is scheduled to hit the road by the end of June, signaling a bold move towards a greener and more efficient future in logistics.
