(PRESS RELEASE) MANNHEIM, 20-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — RWE is expanding its green hydrogen production facility in Lingen, Germany, by adding a third 100 MW electrolysis plant, furthering the site’s role as a key player in sustainable energy production. Bilfinger, a leading industrial services provider, has been chosen as the main solution partner for the engineering, installation, and integration of this new unit, which is part of RWE’s larger 300 MW green hydrogen project.

The third plant will be integrated into the existing infrastructure by 2027, with Bilfinger handling the planning and installation of auxiliary systems to ensure seamless integration. The project is part of RWE’s “GET H2 Nukleus” initiative, which aims to develop a cross-regional hydrogen infrastructure and supply industrial clients with climate-neutral hydrogen. The expansion in Lingen will increase the total plant output by an additional 100 MW, playing a significant role in RWE’s hydrogen strategy.
