Bechtle Expands with Acquisition of Neu-Ulm IT Firm s.i.g., Strengthening Presence in Key Industrial Region

(IN BRIEF) Bechtle AG has acquired s.i.g. System Informations Gesellschaft mbH, an IT system house based in Neu-Ulm, Germany. The acquisition strengthens Bechtle’s position in the Ulm economic region and enhances its industrial IT capabilities for the manufacturing industry. With 50 employees and 25.4 million euros in annual revenue, s.i.g. will be integrated into Bechtle’s newly planned IT campus in Neu-Ulm, set to open in 2026. The acquisition is part of Bechtle’s growth strategy in the Swabia region. The s.i.g. brand and management will remain unchanged during the transition.

(PRESS RELEASE) NECKARSULM/NEU-ULM, 4-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Bechtle AG, one of Germany’s largest IT systems integrators, has announced the acquisition of Neu-Ulm-based IT service provider s.i.g. System Informations Gesellschaft mbH. The acquisition strengthens Bechtle’s presence in the economically vibrant Ulm region, enhancing its portfolio in industrial IT, network solutions, and custom IT infrastructure for the manufacturing sector. With over 50 employees, s.i.g. achieved revenues of 25.4 million euros in the last fiscal year and has established itself as a trusted provider to mid-sized and large enterprises, the public sector, and the healthcare industry.

The acquisition is part of Bechtle’s ongoing expansion strategy, particularly in the Swabia administrative region. Bechtle is currently constructing an IT campus near Neu-Ulm’s University of Applied Science, set to house 300 staff members by early 2026, including s.i.g. and other regional Bechtle companies.

s.i.g. will retain its name and leadership team, with co-founders Guido Fetzer and Eugen Straub remaining in management to ensure a smooth transition and continued service excellence for their clients. Fetzer emphasized that Bechtle’s extensive portfolio and focus on German SMEs make it the ideal partner for s.i.g.’s next growth phase.

Bechtle’s Executive Vice President for Southwest Germany and Austria, Oliver Hambrecht, stated, “We are excited to welcome s.i.g. to the Bechtle family. Their expertise will be a valuable asset in driving growth in the Neu-Ulm region.”

The acquisition is pending approval from competition authorities. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
