(PRESS RELEASE) LUDWIGSHAFEN, 8-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — BASF will spotlight a new formulation concept at Cosmet’Agora 2026 in Paris, reinforcing its Beyond Beauty vision by focusing on individuality, sensory performance and cross-category cosmetic innovation. Presented at the event taking place from January 13 to 14, the concept reflects evolving consumer expectations for multifunctional products that combine performance, emotion and responsible design.

Developed by BASF’s Personal Care business, the concept brings together hybrid formulations that blur traditional category boundaries, spanning skincare, haircare, body cleansing, UV protection and make-up. The approach highlights how advanced textures, ingredient synergies and sensory cues can influence consumer perception while supporting skin and hair resilience in response to environmental stressors.

According to Valérie Pian-Parison, Senior Marketing Manager France, the new concept is rooted in a deeper understanding of how beauty routines intersect with lifestyle, wellbeing and self-expression. The formulations are designed to reconnect users with nature-inspired rituals, deliver care-infused benefits across product categories and enhance emotional engagement through carefully engineered textures.

The showcased portfolio includes longevity-focused skincare, care-infused hair and body cleansing products, eco-conscious sun care assessed using BASF’s EcoSun® Pass methodology, and make-up formulations that promote a healthy glow. Each formulation combines preventive and corrective benefits while prioritising responsible ingredient choices and advanced sensory performance. BASF specialists will be available for in-depth discussions at booths 146, 147 and 148 during the exhibition.

Among the new ingredient innovations on display is Aloversil™, a natural-origin peptide solution developed to support the appearance of fuller, denser-looking hair. Targeted at men experiencing visible hair thinning, the ingredient promotes a healthy scalp environment, which is essential for stronger and more resilient-looking hair. Clinical data from a four-month, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study involving 60 men showed improved visual hair density and coverage when Aloversil was used daily in a leave-in serum. Instrumental measurements confirmed these findings.

Laboratory studies indicate that Aloversil supports cellular signalling and micro-vascularisation, processes linked to hair follicle nourishment and hair vitality. The ingredient is derived from sea buckthorn seedcake, a byproduct of juice and oil production, and is classified as 100 percent natural origin in accordance with ISO 16128 standards.

BASF is also introducing Dehyquart® S18, a readily biodegradable conditioning agent designed for modern hair care formulations such as conditioners, masks and treatments. With a renewable carbon content of 78 percent, Dehyquart S18 offers a more environmentally compatible alternative to conventional quaternary ammonium compounds while delivering high conditioning performance. It is suitable for silicone-free, vegan and cruelty-free formulation concepts.

Performance testing demonstrates that Dehyquart S18 significantly improves wet and dry combability by forming a smooth, uniform film on the hair surface under acidic conditions. The ingredient enhances softness at low use levels and delivers effective frizz control even in high-humidity environments, supporting healthier-looking hair with improved manageability.
