(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 21-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Tangsteel High Strength Automotive Strip Co., Ltd. to upgrade and modernize the existing No. 5 Continuous Galvanizing Line (TAN-CGL5) at its facility in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China. The modernization will allow the line to cover a broader production range and produce higher steel grades for automotive applications. Commissioning of the upgraded line is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The No. 5 Continuous Galvanizing Line is crucial for Tangsteel’s production of high-strength automotive steel. Initially commissioned in 2017, the line was previously upgraded by ANDRITZ in 2021 to improve its heating and cooling capacity. This latest upgrade will enable the line to meet the increasing demand for cold-rolled strip, enhancing its production capacity and operational efficiency. The line has primarily produced materials used in high-end applications for the automotive and home appliance industries.

Tangsteel’s product portfolio includes cold-rolled thin gauge, coated steel strip, electrical steel, and materials for automotive bodies and components. The company’s high-quality products are used by major automotive brands such as BMW, Fiat, SAIC, Geely, and Great Wall.

This order further strengthens ANDRITZ’s position as a leading technology provider for the metals industry and reinforces its successful, long-term collaboration with Tangsteel.
