(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 4-Dec-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — International technology group ANDRITZ has been awarded the contract to refurbish and upgrade the Governador Parigot de Souza hydropower plant, operated by Companhia Paranaense de Energia (COPEL) in Curitiba, Brazil. While the financial details of the agreement remain confidential, the project underscores a deepening partnership between the two companies.

The modernization will involve a complete overhaul of the plant’s critical infrastructure, including upgrades to the Pelton turbines, generators, protection valves, and overhead cranes. ANDRITZ will also provide cutting-edge electrical systems, advanced automation solutions, protection systems, and instrumentation auxiliaries to significantly improve the plant’s efficiency and reliability.
