ANDRITZ Strengthens Waste to Energy Service Capabilities in Germany with New Emmendingen Hub and Wehrle Asset Integration

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ has expanded its presence in the German energy and environmental services market by opening a new service hub in Emmendingen following the acquisition of selected assets from Wehrle-Werk AG’s boiler and grate service business. The integration brings valuable intellectual property, equipment, and skilled personnel into ANDRITZ’s organization, strengthening its technical expertise and regional service capacity. The hub is designed to enhance support for waste-to-energy and waste-incineration facilities, particularly those operating grate-fired boilers and fluidized bed systems for sewage sludge treatment. Existing customers will experience a seamless transition, retaining their familiar contacts while gaining access to broader resources, improved local responsiveness, and expanded capabilities in inspection, maintenance, retrofits, and modernization. The move reflects ANDRITZ’s strategy to deepen customer collaboration and reinforce its lifecycle service offering in sustainable energy and environmental infrastructure.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 16-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — International technology group ANDRITZ has established a new service hub in Germany after acquiring selected assets from the boiler and grate service operations of Wehrle-Werk AG. The move represents a strategic expansion of ANDRITZ’s lifecycle service offering for energy and heat generation facilities, particularly those focused on environmental waste utilization, across German-speaking regions.

Effective November 2025, the newly integrated hub broadens ANDRITZ’s capabilities by incorporating key intellectual property, engineering expertise, specialized tools, and existing inventory from Wehrle. As part of the transition, experienced Wehrle personnel specializing in boiler and grate systems have joined ANDRITZ’s service organization in Emmendingen, reinforcing the company’s technical depth and regional presence.

The initiative significantly enhances ANDRITZ’s ability to support grate-fired boiler installations, especially within waste-to-energy and waste-incineration applications, while maintaining uninterrupted service for existing customers. By aligning Wehrle’s long-standing know-how with ANDRITZ’s global service infrastructure, the company aims to deliver stronger local responsiveness, increased service capacity, and comprehensive solutions ranging from inspection and maintenance to modernization and system upgrades.

Martin Pogoreutz, Vice President Power Plant Service at ANDRITZ Pulp & Paper, emphasized that the new hub underscores the company’s dedication to long-term customer partnerships and operational reliability. Integrating Wehrle’s specialists, he noted, allows ANDRITZ to further strengthen its on-site support model while co-developing advanced service solutions tailored to the evolving needs of energy producers and waste-to-energy operators.

Customers currently served by Wehrle will continue working with their established contacts, ensuring continuity of relationships and technical support. All services will be coordinated from Emmendingen and will cover spare and wear parts supply, field service interventions, retrofit and upgrade projects for grate-fired boilers, as well as fluidized bed technologies used in the mono-incineration of municipal sewage sludge.
