ANDRITZ Schuler Secures Fourth 1 600‑Ton Press Order from Nakayone

ANDRITZ Schuler Secures Fourth 1 600‑Ton Press Order from Nakayone

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ Schuler will supply Metalúrgica Nakayone with a fourth mechanical transfer press, this one rated at 1,600 metric tons, to expand production of structural parts for a new SUV. The mid‑single‑digit million‑euro order, booked in Q1 2025, features the Triton series press with a 6.1 × 2.5 m bed, automated destacker, and the Metris Smart Monitoring System for real‑time force, vibration, and temperature tracking. Nakayone’s Managing Director Valdir Pereira cited positive past experiences and proximity of assembly as key factors. Luciano Duque of ANDRITZ Schuler São Paulo emphasized the decade‑long partnership. The press will arrive by late 2025, with commissioning in mid‑2026. Nakayone, founded in 1976 and part of CIE Automotive since 2007, operates within a vast international supply network.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 15-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ Schuler has received a new order from Metalúrgica Nakayone for a 1,600‑ton mechanical transfer press, marking the supplier’s fourth installation following previous presses rated at 1,000, 1,600, and 2,500 metric tons. Confirmed in the first quarter of 2025 and valued in the mid‑single‑digit million‑euro range, this system will be assembled to produce structural components for a major automaker’s upcoming SUV.

Built on ANDRITZ Schuler’s modular Triton series, the press boasts a 6,100 × 2,500 mm bed, an automated destacker for finished parts, and the Metris Smart Monitoring System. By continuously measuring press force, vibration, and temperature—and displaying trends for each die—the system enables rapid troubleshooting and production optimization.

“We chose to commission our fourth ANDRITZ Schuler transfer press because of the excellent performance of our previous three installations,” said Valdir Pereira, Managing Director of Metalúrgica Nakayone. “Moreover, having the production line assembled just a two‑hour drive away allows rapid expert support when needed.” Luciano Duque, head of ANDRITZ Schuler São Paulo, added, “This project highlights more than a decade of trust between ANDRITZ Schuler and Nakayone.”

Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2025, with commissioning planned for mid‑2026. Founded in 1976, Metalúrgica Nakayone has been part of Spain’s CIE Automotive since 2007, contributing to a global network spanning over 100 facilities across four continents.
