Amazon deploys Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric trucks across UK to drive sustainable logistics operations

Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 hits the road for Amazon in the UK

(IN BRIEF) Mercedes-Benz Trucks has begun delivering eActros 600 electric trucks to Amazon in the UK, part of a record-breaking order of over 200 units for operations in Germany and the UK. These vehicles, which can charge from 10% to 80% in 70 minutes at 400 kW, will collectively cover 450 round-the-world equivalents each year while delivering more than 300 million products. The eActros 600, winner of “International Truck of the Year 2025,” offers a 500 km range per charge and up to 1,000 km per day with fast charging. Featuring robust lithium iron phosphate batteries and multiple configurations, the eActros 600 exemplifies Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ broader sustainability mission to decarbonize freight transport and support safer, climate-friendly logistics.

(PRESS RELEASE) LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN / LONDON, 11-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Mercedes-Benz Trucks is driving a new chapter in sustainable transport by helping Amazon electrify parcel delivery across the UK. Following Amazon’s largest-ever electric truck order—over 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 units for operations in Germany and the UK—the first vehicles have now begun service in Britain, significantly advancing the company’s goal to decarbonize its logistics network.

These high-performance battery-electric trucks are equipped with fast-charging technology capable of replenishing their batteries from 10% to 80% in approximately 70 minutes at 400 kW, ensuring operational efficiency in long-haul logistics. Together, Amazon’s new fleet of eActros 600s will travel the equivalent of 450 times around the world annually, enabling the delivery of over 300 million products across the UK and Europe with zero local emissions.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, unveiled at the end of 2024, represents the company’s flagship electric model for heavy-duty transport. Designed and produced at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, the eActros 600 has already proven its performance through extensive real-world testing — including the “eActros 600 European Testing Tour 2024”, a 15,000-kilometer journey through 22 countries, and the “European Testing Tour Winter 2025” across 6,500 kilometers of northern Europe under challenging weather conditions. The model’s excellence has been recognized with the title of “International Truck of the Year 2025”, awarded by the International Truck of the Year (IToY) jury of 24 European commercial vehicle journalists.

With over 600 kWh of installed battery capacity (three packs of 207 kWh each) and a newly developed electric drive axle, the eActros 600 achieves a range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge—comparable to diesel trucks—while maintaining a gross combination mass of 40 tons. Under optimal conditions, intermediate fast charging during driver breaks allows the vehicle to cover more than 1,000 kilometers per day. Built to Mercedes-Benz’s rigorous standards for durability, the eActros 600 is engineered for up to 1.2 million kilometers of operation over ten years, with battery health remaining above 80 percent after this period.

In response to customer demand, Mercedes-Benz Trucks has expanded the eActros 600 lineup with more than 40 variants, offering different cab options, axle configurations, and battery capacities to accommodate varying operational needs for range, payload, and comfort.

Sustainability lies at the core of Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ strategy. As part of Daimler Truck AG, the company is committed to achieving CO₂e-free freight transport through the integration of battery-electric and hydrogen technologies, as well as resource-efficient production processes. In addition to reducing emissions, Mercedes-Benz Trucks continues to enhance road safety through advanced assistance and automation systems, reinforcing its contribution to a smarter, cleaner, and safer future for the transport industry.
