(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 16-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Ericsson and specialized by stc have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing next-generation mission-critical communications to strengthen public safety operations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement was formalized during the World Defense Show in Riyadh and reflects a shared commitment to delivering secure, resilient connectivity solutions that enable real-time situational awareness for emergency responders.

The partnership combines specialized by stc’s extensive national digital infrastructure with Ericsson’s global leadership in high-availability, secure network technologies. Together, the companies will design, develop, and test advanced use cases tailored to the needs of first responders, including police, ambulance services, civil defense, and emergency-management teams.

Planned solutions include mission-critical push-to-talk and push-to-video capabilities, AI-enabled incident analysis, and highly accurate geolocation services designed to improve decision-making in time-sensitive situations. The collaboration will also integrate Internet of Things sensors and connected-vehicle technologies into unified communication environments, enabling faster coordination, improved field visibility, and more effective emergency responses.

As part of the agreement, both organizations will conduct joint validation initiatives and field trials that simulate high-pressure emergency scenarios. These tests are intended to ensure uninterrupted, secure communications performance under demanding conditions while supporting Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation objectives and reinforcing national readiness.

Leadership from both companies emphasized that the initiative builds on their long-standing relationship and shared focus on delivering reliable, future-ready technologies that safeguard communities and enhance operational resilience for critical services throughout the Kingdom.
