(PRESS RELEASE) FONTANA, CA, Unites States, 28-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — A.P. Moller – Maersk has expanded its Ground Freight network in North America with the opening of a new logistics hub in Fontana, California, strengthening its integrated logistics offering across Southern California. Strategically located in the Inland Empire, the new 165,000-square-foot facility is designed to deliver faster, more reliable trucking and distribution services while enhancing connectivity across key regional and interstate trade corridors.

The Fontana Ground Freight hub operates around the clock and features 22 dock doors, a dedicated fleet of 18 vehicles, and direct access to major transportation routes. Its location provides convenient links to Interstates 10 and 15, rail connections, and proximity to Ontario International Airport, positioning the site as a central node for efficient freight movement in and out of Southern California.

By establishing operations in Fontana, Maersk is able to reduce turnaround times by up to five hours and expand routing options through the Ontario corridor, located approximately 2.5 hours inland. This complements existing capacity at Los Angeles International Airport and provides customers with greater flexibility, faster transit times and improved supply chain resilience. The facility also connects seamlessly with Maersk’s broader Inland Empire Contract Logistics campus, enabling customers to scale warehousing, distribution and value-added services as part of an integrated solution.

The new hub strengthens Maersk’s Ground Freight footprint across California, complementing existing stations in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. Together, these locations form a robust regional network that supports end-to-end logistics, offering customers a single point of contact from origin to destination.

Beyond operational performance, the Fontana team is actively engaged with local organisations to support families, children and individuals in need, reflecting Maersk’s broader commitment to community involvement alongside business growth.

With more than 65 Ground Freight facilities across North America, Maersk continues to invest in strategically positioned hubs that connect regional operations with global trade lanes. This expansion in Fontana underscores the company’s long-term vision of simplifying supply chains through integrated, scalable and resilient logistics solutions.
