ANDRITZ Schuler Launches Next-Generation HFA plus+ Presses with Enhanced Performance and Industry 4.0 Capabilities

Fineblanking presses of the “HFA plus+” series from ANDRITZ Schuler offer an output of up to 85 strokes per minute with press forces between 3,200 and 15,500 kN.

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ Schuler has added the new HFA plus+ series of fineblanking presses to its product range, delivering high-precision, burr-free stamped components with improved energy efficiency and output performance. Building on decades of experience and a long-standing collaboration with Feintool, the presses are now supplied directly by ANDRITZ Schuler as turnkey systems, integrating advanced servo-driven technology and Industry 4.0-ready controls. With press forces up to 15,500 kN, enhanced automation, and full lifecycle service support, the HFA plus+ series strengthens ANDRITZ Schuler’s position in high-quality fineblanking solutions for automotive and industrial applications.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 22-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ Schuler has expanded its technology portfolio with the introduction of the new HFA plus+ series of fineblanking presses, designed to deliver exceptionally smooth, burr-free cut edges alongside high flatness and precision for demanding stamped components. These capabilities are essential for safety-critical and functional parts such as seat belt fasteners, seat adjustment systems, gears, and other transmission components used across the automotive and industrial sectors. The energy-efficient presses offer press forces ranging from 3,200 to 15,500 kN and achieve output rates of up to 85 strokes per minute.

Fineblanking technology has long been part of ANDRITZ Schuler’s expertise. Over the past several decades, more than 800 hydraulic fineblanking systems have been supplied worldwide through cooperation with Feintool AG. With the launch of the HFA plus+ series, these presses are now available directly from ANDRITZ Schuler. The collaboration with Feintool continues under a renewed framework, with Feintool contributing process and tooling expertise as required, while ANDRITZ Schuler takes responsibility for manufacturing the presses and delivering turnkey fineblanking systems to customers as the general contractor.

The new HFA plus+ presses incorporate a range of technical enhancements based on ANDRITZ Schuler’s extensive experience in fineblanking press design. A servo-controlled drive for the hydraulic pumps significantly improves energy efficiency by a double-digit percentage while simultaneously increasing stroke rates. Servo motors are also used within the automation systems to enable fast, precise, and safe material handling. The integrated control system includes comprehensive process monitoring and provides interfaces for advanced Industry 4.0 applications, with additional customization and upgrade options available to meet specific customer requirements.

Production of the new series is already underway, with two HFA plus systems rated at 8,800 kN built at ANDRITZ Schuler’s headquarters in Göppingen, Germany, for Feintool customers in the United States at the beginning of 2025. Beyond machine delivery, ANDRITZ Schuler continues to support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their fineblanking presses, offering services including inspections, spare parts supply, consulting, upgrades, and modernisation solutions. This comprehensive service offering applies not only to the new HFA plus+ series, but also to existing HFA Plus and HFA Speed systems, which will remain available as new machines alongside the latest generation.
