International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Welcomes New Members, Strengthening Global Collaboration

(IN BRIEF) The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) has expanded its international network to 142 national societies with the inclusion of new members from Angola, Chad, and Guyana. These associations—Associação de Ginecologistas e Obstetras de Angola, Association Tchadienne des Gynécologues-Obstétriciens, and The Guyana Obstetrics and Gynecology Society—will actively contribute to FIGO’s global initiatives in maternal health, family planning, gender equality, and reproductive rights. FIGO President Elect Professor Frank Louwen welcomed the new members, emphasizing their valuable contributions to the federation’s mission of ensuring universal access to quality healthcare for women and girls worldwide.

With these new members, FIGO now unites 142 national societies of obstetricians and gynaecologists from around the world, further strengthening its mission to advance women’s health and rights globally.

The new members joining the FIGO community are:

  • Associação de Ginecologistas e Obstetras de Angola
  • Association Tchadienne des Gynécologues-Obstétriciens
  • The Guyana Obstetrics and Gynecology Society
