(IN BRIEF) LANXESS will present its expanded plastics portfolio at K 2025 in Düsseldorf, featuring flame retardants, plasticizers, stabilizers, and advanced pigment solutions. Key highlights include Levagard 2100, a next-generation reactive flame retardant for polyurethane foams, and Emerald Innovation 5000, a sustainable polymeric brominated alternative to DBDPE. The company is also celebrating 75 years of Mesamoll, its proven phthalate-free plasticizer, now available in a more sustainable version with a reduced carbon footprint. In stabilization, LANXESS introduces new Stabaxol products offering low-emission and label-free hydrolysis protection for polymers. For coloration, the focus is on high-performance dyes and pigments tailored to e-mobility, automotive, and high-tech applications, including Macrolex Orange HT, Bayplast Orange TP, Macrolex Black, and Macrolex Blue TP. Complementing these, the Colortherm series provides heat-stable inorganic pigments for demanding plastic processing environments. Together, these innovations underscore LANXESS’ commitment to delivering sustainable, durable, and high-quality solutions for the global plastics industry.

(PRESS RELEASE) COLOGNE, 25-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — LANXESS will showcase its latest innovations for the plastics industry at K 2025 in Düsseldorf, presenting a broad portfolio of polymer additives, plasticizers, stabilizers, pigments, and color solutions at booth C78 in Hall 6 from October 8 to 15. The specialty chemicals company is emphasizing performance, sustainability, and safety with new developments designed to meet increasingly demanding industrial and regulatory standards.

“Polymer additives are key drivers of modern plastics, enabling safer, longer-lasting, and more sustainable solutions,” explains Harald Puetz, Head of Marketing for brominated and phosphorus-based flame retardants at LANXESS. “Our extensive range supports customers in delivering innovative, durable, and environmentally conscious materials.”

Sustainable flame retardant solutions
LANXESS will highlight its broad offering of brominated and phosphorus-based flame retardants, with a strong focus on next-generation products such as Levagard 2100, a reactive phosphonate developed as a safer and more sustainable alternative for rigid polyurethane and insulation foams. Unlike conventional additives, Levagard 2100 integrates directly into the polymer matrix, reducing emissions, migration, and volatility while delivering high fire performance and durability. The company will also present Emerald Innovation 5000, a polymeric brominated flame retardant designed as an alternative to decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE). Its low mobility and permanence prevent blooming and ensure long service life in a wide range of engineering resins.

75 years of Mesamoll – a proven phthalate-free plasticizer
LANXESS is marking the 75th anniversary of Mesamoll, its long-standing phthalate-free plasticizer, widely used in applications from textiles and automotive to leisure products. Since 1949, Mesamoll has been recognized for its high gelling capacity, hydrolytic stability, and long service life. In 2023, LANXESS introduced a more sustainable version based on carbon-reduced raw materials, cutting its product carbon footprint by around 20 percent while maintaining quality and performance.

Hydrolysis stabilization with Stabaxol
The company is expanding its Stabaxol portfolio with new carbodiimide-based stabilizers: Stabaxol L, a monomeric low-emission solution, and Stabaxol P LF, a polymeric, label-free stabilizer offering superior protection against hydrolysis in ester-based elastomers and engineering plastics. These solutions extend product lifetimes in demanding environments and address customer requirements for safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.

Advanced color solutions
Coloration will also be a central theme at the LANXESS booth. For the e-mobility sector, the company will present Macrolex Orange HT, a halogen-free dye offering outstanding heat and light stability, and Bayplast Orange TP LXS 51137, a pigment suited for high-voltage components that demand long-term durability and UV resistance. In addition, LANXESS is expanding its Macrolex Black series for premium automotive applications and introducing Macrolex Blue TP LXS 51151, a high-performance solvent dye for polyester fibers and engineering plastics.

Heat-stable inorganic pigments
LANXESS’ Colortherm range addresses the growing demand for pigments capable of withstanding extreme processing conditions. The Colortherm Red series, manufactured via the company’s proprietary Laux process, offers exceptional heat stability up to 300°C. Meanwhile, the Colortherm Yellow range provides a modular approach tailored to different polymers such as HDPE, ABS, and PA, ensuring precise color stability across a wide spectrum of applications.

By combining decades of expertise with new sustainable product developments, LANXESS continues to support the plastics industry in meeting performance, safety, and environmental goals.
