(IN BRIEF) BASF will showcase the next stage of its VALERAS® portfolio at K 2025, presenting new additive solutions that drive sustainability across the plastics lifecycle. The portfolio’s latest addition, TINUVIN® NOR® 112, enhances greenhouse film performance in organic farming by resisting aggressive agrochemicals, while a new HALS stabilizer currently in development will further expand the NOR® platform. BASF will also highlight collaborations such as a closed-loop packaging solution with Cleanfarms and McKenzie/Snyder, Shouman Group’s leadership in plasticulture adoption, and climate-resilient roofing with Takazuri Ltd. Through #OurPlasticsDialogues, BASF aims to foster exchange on the future of sustainable plastics. Dr. Achim Sties emphasized that innovation and partnership are central to BASF’s approach, with K 2025 providing a platform to demonstrate how additive technologies can transform the industry and support circularity.

(PRESS RELEASE) LUDWIGSHAFEN, 28-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — BASF will mark its return to the world’s leading plastics trade fair, K 2025 in Düsseldorf, by presenting the continued development of its VALERAS® portfolio and unveiling new innovations designed to advance sustainability across the plastics lifecycle. Since its launch at K 2022, VALERAS has grown into a comprehensive platform that supports circularity, durability, and transparency in carbon performance.

At this year’s event, BASF will showcase two important additions to its portfolio. The first, TINUVIN® NOR® 112, enhances the performance of greenhouse films by protecting against harsh agrochemicals, helping to strengthen BASF’s pioneering NOR® platform for sustainable plasticulture. A second solution, a next-generation hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS), is also in development and will be introduced at K 2025, expanding the NOR platform with new capabilities.

The NOR® range has become a benchmark in agricultural plastics, offering tailored solutions that combine durability with compliance for organic farming standards. From the cost-effective Tinuvin NOR 211 AR and 112 AR, capable of resisting sunlight, heat, and chemical stress, to the long-lasting Tinuvin NOR 356, the platform ensures reliable performance, efficient processing, and safety features such as dust-free forms and the absence of critical hazard labels. These attributes make BASF a trusted partner for film manufacturers seeking dependable materials for agricultural applications.

K 2025 will also serve as a stage for dialogue and collaboration. With its initiative #OurPlasticsDialogues, BASF will gather customers, partners, and internal experts to discuss the evolving role of plastic additives in enabling sustainability and circularity. At its booth, BASF will spotlight examples of partnership-driven innovation: a closed-loop agricultural packaging project with Cleanfarms and McKenzie/Snyder supported by Irgastab®, early adoption of Tinuvin NOR 211 by Shouman Group positioning it as a leader in Egypt’s plasticulture sector, and collaboration with Takazuri Ltd. in Eastern Africa to develop climate-resilient roofing made from post-consumer materials with tailored additive solutions.

“K 2025 is a platform to highlight how far we’ve come in supporting sustainability across the plastics value chain,” said Dr. Achim Sties, Senior Vice President, Plastic Additives at BASF. “With the evolution of the VALERAS® portfolio and the new solutions we are bringing this year, we’re showing what’s possible through innovation and partnership. These developments reflect not only our technology but also the collaborative spirit that drives transformation in the plastics industry.”
