(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 14-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — At the Cosmet’Agora event in Paris on January 14-15, 2025, BASF introduced an innovative formulation concept that marks the latest step in its Beyond Beauty journey. This new initiative combines sustainability, science, and transparency to address the growing demands of eco-conscious consumers, while adapting to the evolving environmental challenges affecting personal care. The formulations featured at the show focus on hydration, cleansing, UV protection, and natural makeup, all designed with sustainability and climate adaptability at their core.

We contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals with eco-conscious solutions and are attentive to the evolving needs of consumers seeking new beauty routines.” BASF’s Personal Care team will be available at booth 146-147-148 to engage with attendees, discussing the latest innovations in ingredient circularity, sourcing traceability, and carbon footprint reporting.

Addressing Trends in Eco-Conscious Beauty

With climate change affecting humidity, temperature, and UV exposure, consumers are increasingly seeking personalized personal care solutions. At Cosmet’Agora, BASF will unveil a range of climate-adaptive beauty products organized around four key themes: Hydrating & Cooling, Cleansing & Protection, UV Protection, and Optimistic Glow. The Hydrating & Cooling formulations target transepidermal water loss (TEWL) with moisturizing, non-oily textures using sustainable emollients like Cetiol® Ultimate and natural-origin emulsifiers such as Emulgade® Verde 10 MS & 10 OL.

For cleansing and hair protection, BASF offers gentle alternatives to sulfate surfactants, such as the Plantacare® range, combined with natural-origin esters and butters like Cetiol® OE and Cegesoft® SB45 TR, which create protective barriers on the skin and hair. The sun protection segment introduces advanced solutions like Tinomax™ CC, Tinosorb® A2B, and Uvinul® TS Hydro, offering broad-spectrum protection with oils and emulsifiers from natural origins, catering to the consumer preference for both efficacy and sensory appeal. Lastly, BASF’s natural makeup offerings include skin-tone inspired shades and vibrant colors for lips and eyes, utilizing ingredients from renewable feedstocks such as Cosmedia® Gel CC and RiceTouch.

With this wide array of formulations, BASF is helping its customers respond to the rising demand for eco-conscious beauty products. The company’s Care Chemicals division continues to address the key challenges of sustainability, digitalization, and innovation through its Care 360° – Solutions for Sustainable Life initiative, which focuses on the future of personal care in an increasingly environmentally conscious world.
