(PRESS RELEASE) ROTTERDAM, 29-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Port of Rotterdam Authority has appointed Amlan Bora as its Chief Representative for India and South Asia, engaging him through Dhanoni Advisory LLP. This strategic partnership aims to deepen collaboration between Rotterdam and key South Asian markets—India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh—by forging robust, efficient supply chains that connect these regions with Western Europe via the Dutch port. The move aligns with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ objective to bolster relations in this region, particularly with India.

Based in Ahmedabad at Dhanoni Advisory’s Gujarat office—a state long entwined with Rotterdam’s maritime interests and home to significant Dutch investments—Amlan Bora will work closely with stakeholders across Rotterdam, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. His mandate includes facilitating equitable cargo and bulk logistics, advancing the trade of emerging energy carriers such as hydrogen, and identifying synergies in critical raw materials between Europe and South Asia. With India’s growing prominence in the global hydrogen sector and raw materials market, his role is set to capitalize on ambitious policies and investment drives.

A seasoned supply chain executive, Amlan Bora has held senior roles at Siemens, Philips and Diageo. Before this appointment, he served as Chief Representative and Trade & Investment Commissioner for the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO) in India—trade outposts under the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Deeply connected to India after many years of residency, Amlan Bora advises various non‑profits domestically and internationally. Beyond his professional duties, he champions education and social development, regularly guest lecturing at top Indian and global universities.

The Port of Rotterdam spans roughly 12,500 hectares and welcomes about 28,000 seagoing and 91,000 inland vessels each year.
