(IN BRIEF) MAN Truck & Bus has expanded its logistics center in Salzgitter, increasing its size by 53,000 square meters, now totaling 235,000 square meters. This expansion will support the growth of MAN’s zero-emission vehicle technologies, including electric trucks, buses, and hydrogen vehicles. The facility will stock key e-mobility components, such as batteries, and play a crucial role in delivering spare parts for MAN vehicles across all drive types for up to 15 years after production. The move supports the company’s commitment to a future with more sustainable transport options, including its goal of 50% electric vehicle deliveries by 2030.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 12-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — MAN Truck & Bus is strategically expanding its logistics infrastructure to support its future in zero-emission technology, innovative vehicle models, and the new joint TRATON GROUP modular system. The company has completed the expansion of its state-of-the-art logistics center in Salzgitter, adding 53,000 square meters to its existing facility, bringing the total area to 235,000 square meters. This expansion is key to maintaining the company’s global spare parts supply chain, which serves a vast network of customers and workshops worldwide.

The logistics center will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of MAN’s electric vehicle fleet. As part of the new development, the center will stock up to 12,000 specific e-mobility components, including batteries, for MAN’s expanding range of electric trucks, buses, and other vehicles. This is especially crucial as the company continues to see increased adoption of its eTrucks and electric buses. With more than 2,000 fully electric buses already in operation globally and several hundred eTrucks covering over two million kilometers, MAN is steadily working toward its goal of having 50% of its new vehicle deliveries powered by electricity by 2030.

The expansion also supports the integration of other cutting-edge technologies, such as hydrogen trucks and the new PowerLion diesel drivetrain for the 2025 model year. In addition, the new TRATON Modular System (TMS), a collaborative initiative within the TRATON GROUP, will be a major contributor to the spare parts catalog. The facility will ensure that parts for all types of MAN vehicles—spanning across various drive systems—will be readily available for up to 15 years post-production.

The opening ceremony was attended by Michael Kobriger, Executive Board Member for Production & Logistics at MAN Truck & Bus, alongside Frank Klingebiel, Mayor of Salzgitter. The enhanced logistics center, which will employ 800 staff, is set to strengthen MAN’s operations in Lower Saxony and provide the necessary resources for the company to meet the demands of future vehicle technologies.
