(PRESS RELEASE) RUEIL-MALMAISON, 4-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Schneider Electric, a global leader in digital energy management and automation, has officially opened registration for its 2025 Schneider Go Green Competition. This international challenge, supported by Schneider Electric’s Youth Education & Entrepreneurship and Access to Energy initiatives, invites student teams and young entrepreneurs worldwide to develop innovative solutions that ensure dependable energy access, improve community wellbeing, and reduce costs.

The competition’s theme, “Renewable Energy for Life & Livelihood,” is divided into two primary focus areas. The first emphasizes solar-powered solutions for agriculture—addressing needs from pre- to post-harvesting, storage, and processing. The second area explores solar-powered microbusiness opportunities in sectors like retail, services, refrigeration, manufacturing, and production.

Participants can register from April 1 until May 31, which is also the deadline to assemble teams. Following team formation, competitors must submit their project proposals by June 30. The contest boasts a prize pool of €10,000, with the first-place team awarded €6,000, second-place €2,500, and third-place €1,500. Additionally, every member of the winning teams will receive a Solar Family Home Kit.

“The Schneider Go Green Competition underscores our dedication to fostering emerging talent,” stated Charise Le, Chief Human Resources Officer at Schneider Electric. “By equipping students with mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities, we enable them to devise solutions that tackle real-world challenges. This event not only sparks creativity and teamwork but also reflects our core values of Action and Inclusion. We are thrilled to back such a diverse and innovative group of young minds.”

In its continued effort to empower youth, Schneider Electric is providing participants with exclusive access to a premium online course, “Get into Energy Transition,” offered through Schneider Electric University. Developed in collaboration with the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship program and INCO, the course is designed to boost technical skills in sustainability and deepen understanding of the green economy, preparing students for future careers in the industry.

Mentorship is a cornerstone of the competition. Through structured sessions offered by the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship and Access to Energy programs, participants receive expert guidance to refine their ideas, craft viable solutions, and gain practical insights into the application of their projects. Reflecting on their past experience, winners of the 2022 competition shared, “We were soon assigned a mentor from Schneider Electric, who helped us develop our bold idea. They were our guiding star, helping us to align our project to Schneider’s technical and business requirements. We complemented each other so that our solution was both attractive and closely connected to users’ needs. Throughout the process, we faced challenges, but even difficulties and failures didn’t distract us. We tried to reach the goal the four of us believed in day after day.”
