Eviden Secures National Contract to Deploy C-ITS PKI for France’s Connected Mobility Infrastructure

Set for nationwide rollout in 2025, the system will ensure secure, interoperable communication across France’s Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), which connect vehicles, road infrastructure, and users to enhance road safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. (PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 17-Dec-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, part of the Atos Group and a leader in digital, cloud, big data, and security, has been awarded the national C-ITS PKI contract by France’s Department for Transport Infrastructure and Mobility Services (DGITM), under the Ministry of Partnership with Territories and Decentralization (MPTD). This four-year agreement, with the possibility of a two-year extension, will see Eviden implement its IDnomic C-ITS PKI solution to secure and enable interoperable communication across France’s Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). Full-scale deployment is scheduled for 2025.

France, a frontrunner in the development of C-ITS, is establishing its national C-ITS PKI system to align with European technical and security policies. Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems allow seamless communication between vehicles, infrastructure, and other road users, helping anticipate road events beyond a driver’s immediate visibility. These systems are critical for enhancing road safety, reducing accidents, improving traffic efficiency, and lowering environmental impact.

Eviden’s IDnomic C-ITS PKI will ensure the digital security, privacy, and trust necessary for the success of France’s connected mobility services. The solution guarantees compliance with European standards and harmonization rules, enabling seamless interoperability with C-ITS systems deployed across the EU. Public organizations like the National Police, Firefighters, and Gendarmerie, alongside road infrastructure operators such as government departments, municipalities, and private highway operators, will rely on Eviden’s technology to securely connect their infrastructure and vehicles.
