Salzgitter AG Highlights SALCOS® Green Steel Initiative at EuroBLECH 2024 for Carbon-Reduced Future

The event, featuring 1,300 exhibitors, will also provide a platform for Salzgitter’s subsidiaries to present their innovations and solutions for decarbonizing the steel industry.

(PRESS RELEASE) SALZGITTER, 19-Oct-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Salzgitter AG is set to make a strong impression at EuroBLECH 2024, one of the leading trade fairs for sheet metal working, taking place in Hannover from October 22-25, 2024. Authored by Salzgitter AG, this announcement highlights the company’s participation, where it will focus on its SALCOS® program, a pioneering initiative aimed at significantly reducing carbon emissions in steel production by 2033. Under the theme “The Power of Productivity,” EuroBLECH 2024 will host over 1,300 companies in an exhibition space spanning 90,000 square meters, with more than 60% of exhibitors coming from outside Germany.

Salzgitter AG, located at Stand D78 in Hall 17, will showcase its innovative solutions alongside its co-exhibiting subsidiaries. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the SALCOS® transformation program in detail, with an information desk and a hydrogen model available to illustrate the program’s components and progress. SALCOS® aims to enable the company to achieve up to a 95% reduction in carbon emissions during steel production by 2033.

Additionally, Salzgitter AG will promote its green steel brand, which represents the company’s commitment to producing steel with significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions. Through transparent certification and physical carbon reduction, these products help customers decarbonize their supply chains and meet sustainability goals. The stand will also feature a dedicated networking area, encouraging visitors to exchange ideas and discuss joint projects.
