This collaboration will leverage a comprehensive airport solution developed by Thales, focusing on three key areas: smart airport security, biometric passenger journeys, and operational efficiency. The initiative will impact all airports managed by AAHL throughout the country.

At the heart of this partnership is Thales’ Fly to Gate solution, which was deployed in early 2024 at seven of AAHL’s airports, facilitating a touchless biometric experience for passengers participating in the DigiYatra program. Additionally, Thales will establish an Airport Operation Control Centre (APOC) to further improve management and security at these facilities.

Thales’ innovative technologies are poised to revolutionize air travel in India, enabling AAHL to effectively and securely manage complex airport operations while enhancing the travel experience for passengers in accordance with privacy regulations.

As the largest private airport operator in India, AAHL has recognized the value of advanced technologies provided by Thales. The Fly to Gate solution utilizes advanced facial recognition technology for secure passenger identification, allowing pre-enrolled travelers to bypass the traditional ID checks at various points in the airport process, from check-in to boarding. This system has already reduced processing times by up to 30% at the seven participating airports, aligning with the Indian government’s vision of a digital future.

In addition to Fly to Gate, Thales is set to design, integrate, and implement an end-to-end APOC solution for all airports operated by AAHL. This cloud-based Smart Digital Platform will centralize critical applications to optimize airport management, security, and passenger services. By collecting operational data from integrated subsystems and sensors, the APOC platform will utilize automation, big data analytics, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance decision-making processes.
