EnBW Reappoints Dirk Güsewell and Georg Stamatelopoulos to Board of Management

(IN BRIEF) EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG’s Supervisory Board has made an early decision to reappoint Dirk Güsewell and Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos as members of the Board of Management for an additional five years. Dirk Güsewell oversees System Critical Infrastructure, while Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos is responsible for Sustainable Generation Infrastructure. The reappointments aim to provide continuity and long-term stability to tackle the challenges ahead in expanding the grid and transitioning to new forms of energy generation. The extended contracts will be effective from June 2024 until May 2029.

(PRESS RELEASE) KARLSRUHE, 18-Jul-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — At its meeting last Thursday, the Supervisory Board of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG took an early decision to reappoint Dirk Güsewell and Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos for a further five years as members of the Board of Management.

Dirk Güsewell is the board member responsible for System Critical Infrastructure, while Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos is the board member who oversees Sustainable Generation Infrastructure. Both were appointed to the EnBW Board of Management with effect from 1 June 2021. Their contracts, which run until 31 May 2024, have been extended for five years with effect from 1 June 2024, which means they are now due to end on 31 May 2029.

Dirk Güsewell is head of the “System Critical Infrastructure” segment, which includes all grid-bound business activities involving electricity, gas and water, the gas value chain and the growth areas of telecommunications and innovation management.

Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos is head of the “Sustainable Generation Infrastructure” segment, which encompasses all market-based generation and trading matters, as well as growth areas, especially in the field of renewable energy sources. The segment covers renewable and conventional generation, the dismantling of nuclear plants, trading, the areas of technology coordination, waste disposal / environmental services, occupational safety, environmental protection and crisis management.
