Over 1,600 visitors are booked to attend the University of Bristol’s first institution-wide postgraduate open day on Wednesday [23 November].

BRISTOL, 21-Nov-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — It’s an opportunity to learn about the full range of courses and opportunities on offer for all ages, whether someone’s a current undergraduate or looking to return to higher education.

An exhibition in the Wills Memorial Building offers a one-stop shop for information, where visitors can talk to faculties and schools about taught and research programmes, in addition to meeting representatives from key services.

There will also be talks covering subjects such as careers and funding, plus tours of the main campus. The event begins at 3pm and runs until 7pm.

It’s the first time the University has organised an event on this scale for prospective postgraduate students, with organisers hoping to showcase the wide range of opportunities available.

Hannah Nicole Simpson, Postgraduate Recruitment Officer, said: “The day itself is like a party for our prospective students. We have a wide range of talks, a subject and service fair and a research room where they can learn about other options for doctoral funding and interdisciplinary research. They can also meet staff from services, academics and current students, and take campus tours.

“We recognise that choosing a university for postgraduate study is an important decision and by meeting staff and students, and experiencing the atmosphere for yourself, visitors can make an informed decision on whether Bristol is the university for them.”
