ZÜBLIN Completes Acquisition of BAUER Spezialtiefbau, Enhancing Its Foundation Engineering Services in Austria

(IN BRIEF) ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau has acquired BAUER Spezialtiefbau Ges.m.b.H., further strengthening its foundation engineering capabilities in Austria. The merger combines ZÜBLIN’s expertise in technologies like diaphragm walls and groundwater drainage with BAUER’s specialization in pile construction. This acquisition will enable ZÜBLIN to offer more flexible and comprehensive services to customers across Austria. Full integration under the ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau brand is expected by 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) STUTTGART, 22-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — STRABAG subsidiary ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau Ges.m.b.H. has successfully completed the acquisition of BAUER Spezialtiefbau Ges.m.b.H., a move that will strengthen ZÜBLIN’s position in the Austrian market and expand its expertise in pile construction. The merger combines the strengths of both companies, enhancing ZÜBLIN’s ability to deliver flexible and comprehensive foundation engineering solutions across Austria.

Reinhard Kerschner, member of the ZÜBLIN Management Board, emphasized the importance of this strategic acquisition: “This is a key step in our growth strategy. ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau has long been active in Austria, having contributed to significant projects involving diaphragm walls, grouting, and groundwater drainage. Meanwhile, BAUER Spezialtiefbau has built a strong reputation for its expertise in pile foundation services. By integrating these two core competencies, ZÜBLIN will enhance its ability to meet the diverse needs of customers across Austria, from small regional projects to large-scale construction sites. The full integration of the two companies will be completed under the ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau brand by 2026.

The acquisition has already been finalized, with the purchase price remaining undisclosed.
