Yusuf Demiral Joins Standard Chartered as Global Head of WRB Data, Analytics & AI

(IN BRIEF) Standard Chartered has appointed Yusuf Demiral as the Global Head of Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) Data, Analytics & AI, a newly created position aimed at enhancing the client journey through data and AI. With over 25 years of experience, including a leadership role at HSBC, Yusuf will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Samir Subberwal, Global Head of Wealth Solutions, Deposits and Mortgages, and Chief Client Officer.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 3-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ —  Standard Chartered has appointed Yusuf Demiral as the new Global Head of Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) Data, Analytics & AI. In this newly created role, Yusuf will lead the Bank’s strategy for data, analytics, and AI across the complete client journey. He will work closely with the Marketing, Digital Sales, and Client Experience teams to implement the overall strategy of the Chief Client Office.

Yusuf brings over 25 years of extensive banking experience to this role. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he served as the Group Head of Data Analytics and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC. In his role at HSBC, Yusuf was responsible for driving data platforms, advanced analytics, and CRM capabilities across HSBC’s retail and wealth banking operations, managing a global team of over 1,000 professionals across more than 20 markets.

Yusuf will join Standard Chartered on 7 July 2025, based in Hong Kong. He will report to Samir Subberwal, Global Head of Wealth Solutions, Deposits and Mortgages, and Chief Client Officer.
