(IN BRIEF) Vossloh has acquired Nordic Tamping Service AB, a Swedish specialist in ballast tamping for railway tracks, strengthening its service capabilities in Scandinavia. The acquisition adds experienced personnel and technical equipment, enabling Vossloh to offer ballast tamping alongside its existing rail infrastructure products and services. Integrated into Vossloh’s Lifecycle Solutions unit, NTS enhances the group’s ability to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end services for railway network operators across Sweden and Norway.

(PRESS RELEASE) WERDOHL, 10-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Vossloh AG has expanded its railway services portfolio in Scandinavia through the acquisition of Nordic Tamping Service AB (NTS), a Sweden-based specialist in ballast tamping for rail infrastructure. The transaction was completed on January 9 and marks a further step in strengthening Vossloh’s lifecycle service offering for railway network operators in the Nordic region.

Headquartered in Borlänge, NTS focuses on tamping ballast beds to stabilize railway tracks, a critical process in both the installation of new lines and the ongoing maintenance of existing infrastructure. The company operates primarily in Sweden and Norway and brings with it a highly experienced team as well as a fully equipped technical fleet.

Through the acquisition, Vossloh is adding ballast tamping capabilities to its existing service range in Scandinavia. This enables the group to offer a more comprehensive set of rail infrastructure services, covering a broader portion of the track lifecycle and reducing the need for customers to coordinate multiple suppliers.

Oliver Schuster, Chief Executive Officer of Vossloh AG, said the integration of NTS strengthens the company’s regional portfolio and enhances its ability to serve customers with end-to-end solutions. By combining established local expertise with Vossloh’s existing offerings, the company aims to deliver greater efficiency and value for railway operators.

Vossloh currently employs around 530 people across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. Its activities in the region include the supply of turnouts, fastening systems, and concrete sleepers, as well as services such as track construction and maintenance. Following the acquisition, NTS will be integrated into Vossloh’s Lifecycle Solutions business unit, aligning its ballast tamping services with the group’s broader maintenance and asset management capabilities.

The transaction reinforces Vossloh’s strategy of expanding service-based offerings in key European rail markets, supporting reliable and sustainable railway infrastructure throughout Scandinavia.
