(PRESS RELEASE) LINZ, 19-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The voestalpine Group, a leading global steel and technology company, is significantly boosting its production capabilities in the United States following the securing of major contracts with two renowned truck manufacturers. These new long-term agreements, aimed at serving the North American market, will see voestalpine expanding its Indiana facility to meet growing demand for high-quality structural components used in heavy-duty trucks.

The company’s Metal Forming Division, known for its expertise in producing specialized tubes and sections, will spearhead the expansion at its Jeffersonville, Indiana site. This investment, totaling EUR 70 million (USD 78 million), will add approximately 15,000 square meters of production space and create 110 new jobs, doubling the plant’s production capacity to 80,000 tons. The enhanced facility is set to begin operations in 2026.

A Strategic Move to Serve North America’s Trucking Industry

voestalpine has been a key player in the European market for years, particularly in the rollforming of complex special tubes and sections for the commercial vehicle sector.
