This collaboration will offer globally accredited programs, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and dual degree options. The partnership aims to tackle global challenges through research, foster faculty and student exchange, and address skill gaps in key sectors. It also aligns with Egypt’s broader higher education reforms and supports the nation’s Vision 2030. The MoU to formalize the partnership will be signed on January 19, 2025.

Located at Ain Shams University’s International Campus, the new Exeter campus will offer a range of accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with dual degree options and specialized courses tailored to the demands of students in Egypt and beyond.

In addition to fostering academic excellence, the partnership will support faculty and student exchange programs, professional development, and collaborative research across various sectors. This initiative is designed to address skill gaps and prepare students for the evolving global job market while strengthening cultural and academic ties between the UK and Egypt.

Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, highlighted the importance of global partnerships for addressing urgent challenges and making higher education more accessible. “This partnership with Ain Shams University reflects our commitment to academic excellence, knowledge exchange, and positively impacting the world on a global scale,” she said.

Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, celebrated the initiative as a major achievement, noting the alignment of the partnership with Egypt’s broader higher education reforms aimed at fostering international collaboration and innovation. British Ambassador to Egypt, Gareth Bayley, also praised the collaboration, emphasizing its significance in advancing Egypt’s Vision 2030 and increasing access to UK education.

The formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 19, 2025, will solidify the details of the partnership, marking a new chapter in higher education collaboration between the UK and Egypt.
