(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 4-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — TotalEnergies and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) have formalized an agreement to deepen their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the opening of the 5th Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference (KOGS). The accord sets the framework for closer technical cooperation, knowledge sharing, and joint studies aimed at supporting Kuwait’s energy objectives.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of senior leadership from both companies, including Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies, Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and Ahmad Jaber Al-Eidan, Chief Executive Officer of KOC. Their participation underscored the strategic importance of the partnership for both parties.

Under the terms of the MoU, TotalEnergies will contribute its technical and operational expertise to a series of studies, particularly those focused on identifying and assessing new exploration opportunities within Kuwait. These analyses are intended to provide a stronger technical foundation for potential future projects and investment decisions in the country’s hydrocarbon sector.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing Kuwait’s resource development in a structured and collaborative manner. By combining KOC’s deep local knowledge with TotalEnergies’ global technical capabilities, the two companies aim to generate insights that could inform future exploration and development strategies.

Patrick Pouyanné stated that TotalEnergies welcomed the opportunity to reinforce its cooperation with KOC through this MoU, emphasizing that the planned studies would not only support Kuwait’s energy ambitions but also strengthen the companies’ long-standing relationship. He highlighted that the initiative aligns with TotalEnergies’ broader approach of working closely with national oil companies to develop resources responsibly and efficiently.
