TotalEnergies Sells Half of Greek Wind and Solar Portfolio to Asterion While Retaining Operational Control

(IN BRIEF) TotalEnergies has sold a 50 percent stake in its 424 MW wind and solar portfolio in Greece to Asterion Industrial Partners in a transaction valuing the assets at €508 million. The company retains the remaining 50 percent, continues to operate the portfolio, and will market most of the electricity produced once regulated tariffs expire. The transaction aligns with TotalEnergies’ integrated power strategy, which combines renewable generation with flexible assets and includes selective divestments to optimize profitability, manage risk, and maximize portfolio value.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 17-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — TotalEnergies has completed the sale of a 50 percent interest in its Greek wind and solar portfolio to Asterion Industrial Partners, advancing its renewables-focused growth strategy while reinforcing portfolio value. The transaction covers assets with a combined installed capacity of 424 megawatts and values the portfolio at €508 million, corresponding to roughly €1.2 million per installed megawatt.

Following the transaction, TotalEnergies remains a long-term partner in the portfolio, retaining a 50 percent stake and continuing to operate the assets. The company will also play a central role in the commercialization of the electricity generated, as it will offtake and market most of the output once the projects transition away from regulated tariff schemes.

The deal reflects TotalEnergies’ integrated power business model, which is built around combining renewable generation assets, including solar and onshore and offshore wind, with flexible capacity such as combined-cycle gas turbines and energy storage. This balanced approach is designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power to customers while managing operational and market risks.

As part of this strategy, TotalEnergies regularly divests minority stakes of up to 50 percent in renewable assets. These transactions allow the company to recycle capital, optimize returns, and share project risk while maintaining operational control and long-term exposure to value creation within its renewables portfolio.
