Ticketing Leader CTS EVENTIM Appoints Industry Veteran Thorsten Schäffler to Drive B2B and B2C Product Innovation

Schäffler will manage all B2B and B2C product lines and advance the company’s overarching product strategy, with a strong emphasis on employing generative AI for enhanced data analysis and predictive models. This initiative aims to offer promoters more precise decision-making tools and to enrich fan experiences through improved recommendation marketing. Schäffler holds an International Business degree from Reutlingen University, an MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and a PhD from WHU. His career spans roles at Boston Consulting Group, Westwing, Flix—where he scaled product and tech operations—and most recently as Chief Digital Product Officer at Enpal. He reports to CTO Karel Dörner, who praised his expertise in digital strategy and AI-driven innovation. In this capacity, Schäffler will oversee the full spectrum of B2B and B2C product portfolios and refine the Group’s unified product strategy. A central element of his mandate is to harness generative AI for deeper data insights and predictive modeling—empowering promoters with sharper analytics for strategic decisions. Concertgoers can also look forward to a more seamless experience, with enriched recommendation engines and other customer-centric enhancements. Schäffler will report directly to CTO Karel Dörner.

Schäffler brings a distinguished academic and professional pedigree to CTS EVENTIM. He studied International Business at Reutlingen University and earned an MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey, followed by a PhD in cooperation management from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in 2014. He launched his career at Boston Consulting Group in Munich, steering strategy, process, and data-driven transformations. After a tenure at Westwing, Schäffler joined Flix in 2015 as Vice President Online Product, where he was instrumental in scaling its product and technology divisions. Most recently, he served as Chief Digital Product Officer at Enpal, Europe’s fast-growing solar-energy market leader.
