The Lindner Group’s Josef Steretzeder has been appointed professor at the University of Applied Sciences (HDU) in Deggendorf

22-7-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Josef Steretzeder, newly appointed professor at the University of Applied Sciences (HDU) in Deggendorf, represents the Institute of Sustainability, Energy and Environmental Management at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Management.

Lindner Group supports education

He aims to share his longstanding experience in the sustainable building sector with the students, promote sustainability and push the institutes and research centres at the campus Schloss Mariakirchen of the HDU Deggendorf.

After completing his Wood Technology studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim, he joined the Lindner Group in Arnstorf in 1988. The Lindner Group is Europe’s leading company for building envelopes, general contracting, insulation technologies and building-related services. He is heading the Integrated Management Service, the Competence Centre Installation and the Green Building department that deal with the introduction, the implementation and the development of management systems for quality, safety, environment and energy. Josef Steretzeder focuses on sustainability and green building and is also responsible for the certification of buildings according to German and American standards (DGNB/BNB and LEED, respectively), for example the Unilever headquarters or the Lindley Carrée in Hamburg as well as the Deka-Sunyard building in Munich.

Josef Steretzeder has been involved with the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf for several years now. He gives lectures and initiated the founding of the Campus Schloss Mariakirchen. In 2005, he also started to give lectures on intergrated management systems at the TÜV SÜD Academy in Regensburg.

The management, executives and employees of the Lindner Group celebrated his long-term commitment with a small ceremony. The executive board member Heinrich Büchner and Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber, chairman of the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf, congratulated Josef Steretzeder on his appointment.
