Supervisory Board Renews Appointments of Dirk Elvermann and Stephan Kothrade on BASF Executive Board

(IN BRIEF) BASF’s Supervisory Board has renewed the tenures of two Executive Directors: Dirk Elvermann will continue as CFO and Chief Digital Officer until the 2031 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, and Stephan Kothrade will remain CTO until the 2028 meeting. Elvermann, appointed in April 2023, manages finance, audit, tax, and digital and procurement services, while Kothrade, on the board since March 2023, leads technology divisions spanning monomers to mega projects in Asia. These decisions reflect BASF’s commitment to stable, expert governance as it pursues sustainable growth.

Dr. Dirk Elvermann (53), who serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Digital Officer, will remain in his dual role through the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in 2031. Since joining the Executive Board in April 2023, Elvermann has overseen Corporate Finance, Corporate Audit, Corporate Taxes & Duties, Global Business Services, Global Digital Services, and Global Procurement.

Meanwhile, Dr. Stephan Kothrade (58), Chief Technology Officer since March 2023, has had his term extended until the end of the 2028 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. Kothrade’s remit encompasses Monomers, Performance Materials, Petrochemicals, Intermediates, Group Research, Greater China, and Mega Projects Asia.
