(PRESS RELEASE) SINGAPORE, 5-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Standard Chartered has expanded its Global Chief Investment Office (CIO) team as part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen wealth capabilities and accelerate growth in its Affluent business. The move builds on the Bank’s earlier appointment of regional CIOs and reinforces its focus on placing CIO insights at the centre of its wealth advisory offering.

As part of the expansion, Sundeep Gantori has been appointed Chief Investment Officer, Equities. Based in Singapore, he will lead the CIO equity strategy team and focus on driving the adoption of equity strategy solutions through close engagement with frontline teams and clients. Sundeep brings nearly 20 years of experience as an equity strategist and joins Standard Chartered from UBS, where he most recently served as CIO Equity Strategist at UBS Global Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office, with a focus on global technology sectors and responsibility for managing the CIO’s global AI portfolio.

In addition, Jonathan Liang has joined the Bank as Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income & FX. Based in Hong Kong, Jonathan will lead the CIO Fixed Income and FX strategy team and support the delivery of fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities strategy across the Bank’s wealth platform, working closely with frontline teams. He brings more than 25 years of investment experience and joins from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was most recently Head of Asia ex-Japan Investment Specialists within the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Group, advising institutional clients including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, and global financial institutions.

Both Sundeep and Jonathan will report to Steve Brice, Global Chief Investment Officer at Standard Chartered. Commenting on the appointments, he said the CIO plays a central role in the Bank’s Wealth Solutions business by ensuring consistency in how affluent clients are advised. He added that the depth of experience brought by the new appointees will further strengthen the Bank’s wealth advisory capabilities and reinforce its position as a leading international wealth manager.
