(PRESS RELEASE) MLADÁ BOLESLAV, 2-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — At the end of the academic year, Škoda Auto’s educational facilities mark the occasion with the unveiling of their latest Student Car project. This year, 28 passionate students from the Škoda Auto Secondary Vocational School of Engineering have taken inspiration from the company’s impressive 130-year heritage and its strong ties to cycling to create the 10th Student Car. With fabrication and bodywork now complete, the project is advancing to the paint shop for its custom finish, while the official name of this new addition will be revealed in the coming weeks.

“The tenth Škoda Student Car will play a key role in our celebrations of Škoda Auto’s 130th anniversary. I am thrilled to see that interest in our Student Car program is continually growing among students. In light of these significant milestones, expectations were very high to deliver another outstanding concept car this year. The work accomplished so far is exceptional, and I have every confidence that our students’ dedication will truly shine when the final car is unveiled in June,” stated Maren Gräf, Škoda Auto Board Member for People & Culture.

The process begins with students conceptualizing creative and engaging designs that add a fresh perspective to Škoda’s vehicle lineup. Once initial sketches are finalized, the project moves into the bodywork phase, where balancing structural integrity with innovative design demands ingenuity and hands-on expertise. Throughout the project, students receive support from seasoned Škoda Auto experts in Technical Development, Design, and other departments.

After investing countless hours of diligent work, the students have now concluded the bodywork stage, and the car is set to receive its bespoke paint finish. This milestone is part of a broader commitment by Škoda Auto to invest in training and modern facilities. Since 2013, in partnership with the KOVO Trade Union, over 457 million CZK (approximately €18.2 million) has been invested to modernize the Škoda Academy’s training and technical equipment. This extensive upgrade, including a dedicated Student Car workshop within newly refurbished facilities focusing on electromobility and digitalization, has also contributed to the decision to postpone the tenth Student Car to 2025. These investments not only enhance training opportunities for students but also improve the skills of Škoda employees, preparing them for the evolving automotive landscape.
