(PRESS RELEASE) MLADÁ BOLESLAV, 8-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Škoda Auto celebrates its 32nd year as the official main sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, marking the occasion with the unveiling of its latest all-electric model, the Škoda Enyaq RS family. The Czech automaker continues to solidify its commitment to both sports and sustainability with a fleet of electrified vehicles, including the new Enyaq RS, Elroq, and Enyaq Coupé RS, all set to play a key role during the tournament.

The Enyaq RS models will be showcased alongside the Elroq RS, offering a first glimpse at Škoda’s sportiest electric lineup to date. Ahead of the digital world premiere on Škoda’s YouTube channel on May 9, the company has released teasers of the new Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS, with exterior and interior details revealed for the first time. The event will also mark the unveiling of a redesigned MVP trophy, crafted by the Škoda Design team.

As part of its ongoing partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Škoda Auto is providing 45 electrified vehicles for the tournament, comprising 30 fully electric Elroq and Enyaq models and 15 plug-in hybrid vehicles, including the Kodiaq iV and Superb Combi iV.

Škoda’s Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

“Ice hockey is one of the most popular sports globally, and Škoda Auto is proud to be part of its excitement as the longest-running sponsor of a world championship,” said Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “With the launch of the Enyaq RS family, we are taking our commitment to innovation and sustainability to the next level. The new Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS represent the pinnacle of our electric vehicle range, with powerful performance and the striking Modern Solid design language that resonates with our customers.”

The Enyaq RS Family: Performance Meets Sustainability

Škoda’s new Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS, featuring an all-new Modern Solid design, will be making their public debut on May 9 at 16:00 CEST. The RS models are equipped with all-wheel drive, powered by two electric motors that generate a combined output of 250 kW. These performance-oriented vehicles can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, making them the fastest-accelerating models in Škoda’s current lineup. The vehicles will also offer two interior variants, RS Lounge and RS Suite, each with extensive standard equipment.

A Redesigned MVP Trophy for 2025

Škoda Auto also unveiled the redesigned MVP trophy for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Created in partnership with the IIHF since 2018, this year’s trophy features bold geometric cuts in hand-blown Czech crystal, designed in the Modern Solid style. The trophy, with its fluid, nature-inspired form, incorporates Škoda’s signature green, made from specially developed emerald pigments.

Škoda Fan Zones and Experiences

Škoda Auto is bringing the brand closer to fans with dedicated fan zones in both Stockholm and Herning, where visitors can experience Škoda’s electric models, including the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS. The fan zones will offer a mix of interactive entertainment, such as karaoke-equipped Elroqs, hockey-themed mini-games, and a virtual goal-shooting simulator. Fans in Stockholm can also see the newly designed MVP trophy up close. In Herning, the highlight will be a giant Škoda-themed goalie mask.

Continued Commitment to Ice Hockey

Since 1992, Škoda Auto has supported the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, becoming the official main sponsor the following year. With 32 consecutive years of sponsorship, Škoda holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running main sponsorship in world championship history.
