(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 4-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — SEB has once again cemented its position as the leading advisor and research provider in sustainable financing across the Nordic region, according to the latest Prospera customer survey conducted by Kantar Sifo. The bank secured the top spot with a score of 1,078 points, surpassing its closest competitors, who scored 1,023 and 946, respectively. SEB’s strong performance was particularly notable among its largest corporate customers and clients involved in issuing investment-grade bonds.

Kantar Sifo’s survey results are based on 32 Prospera surveys, which assess banks’ sustainability advice and research across various client segments in all four Nordic countries. Hans Beyer, Head of Sustainable Banking at SEB, expressed pride in the outcome, calling it a collective achievement across various areas of the bank. He emphasized that the results reflect how well SEB has integrated sustainability considerations into its offerings, a shift that is appreciated across the bank’s entire franchise.

In terms of regional performance, SEB ranked number one in both Finland and Sweden, and number three in Denmark and Norway. The bank’s strength is particularly evident among corporate clients, although it continues to develop its institutional client base. “While our focus has been on the corporate sector, we are now strengthening our institutional capabilities, particularly with our flagship product, the Green Bond Report,” said Beyer, adding that the bank’s ambition remains strong across all sectors.

Looking ahead, Beyer acknowledged that the biggest challenge for SEB will be maintaining its competitive edge as sustainability continues to gain traction across various sectors of the economy. “The gap between us and the competition is narrowing, and as sustainability reaches further into the economy, this challenge will intensify,” he stated. SEB’s strategy going forward will be to continue supporting its customers’ long-term sustainability ambitions, adapting to evolving business and regulatory environments.
