Safran an official partner in the 45th EDHEC Sailing Cup in Brest, France

Paris, 22-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Safran will be an official partner in the 45th EDHEC Sailing Cup, to take place in Brest, France from April 19 to 27, 2013. This is the largest student sports event in Europe, with some 3,000 students from 22 countries, representing nearly 165 business schools, engineering schools and universities around the world.

Safran’s partnership in this major student sailing race is part of its employer brand campaign launched last year, and also echoes the Group’s commitment to ocean racing since 2006, alongside skipper Marc Guillemot.

Safran once again plans to hire some 7,000 new employees worldwide this year, including nearly 3,000 in France, and 40% of this total will be recent graduates. The EDHEC Sailing Cup is therefore an ideal opportunity for Safran to bolster its recognition among students and recent graduates. A dozen Safran employees, members of the Group’s network of ambassadors at key schools, will man a dedicated stand at the EDHEC Village. They will be able to introduce participants to Safran’s businesses, professions and career opportunities in its core markets of aerospace, defense and security.

Safran is also sponsoring two awards to be presented by Marc Guillemot: the All-Student Award and the All-Women Award.

Safran will be sponsoring a boat crewed by students from ESC Grenoble, who won the SAFRAN‐ESAILING TEAM event, a “serious game” inspired by the Vendée Globe, organized by Safran last year. The crew from ESC Grenoble will not only be sailing a boat flying Safran’s colors, but will also enjoy a special training session with Marc Guillemot before the start of the race.
