With past joint projects including ordnance removal in the North Sea and Baltic region, the acquisition builds on a strong working relationship and is expected to contribute up to €80 million in annual revenue. (PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 15-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Rheinmetall has announced the acquisition of Stascheit GmbH, a Gardelegen-based company specialising in ammunition detection and recovery, further strengthening its position in the field of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). The deal sees Stascheit become a wholly owned subsidiary of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH, enhancing the Düsseldorf-based group’s portfolio of security-focused services.

This strategic move is set to broaden Rheinmetall Project Solutions’ offerings with Stascheit’s core expertise in detecting, analysing, recovering, and disposing of explosive ordnances—both on land and underwater. In addition to EOD, Stascheit is also known for its work in archaeological prospection and environmental site assessments, including complex diving operations.

Rheinmetall and Stascheit have a long history of collaboration on critical infrastructure projects. These include clearance efforts in the North Sea to support maintenance of offshore wind farms, and the removal of unexploded ordnance ahead of subsea cable installations in the Baltic Sea and Spain. Building on these successes, the acquisition is expected to help Rheinmetall generate approximately €80 million in annual revenue in the medium term.
