Rabobank appoints Coert Beerman as Director-Elect of Netherlands and Africa

Utrecht, Netherlands, 3-4-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Mr Coert Beerman MBA will become the Director-Elect of Netherlands and Africa at Rabobank’s international banking business effective July 2014. He will hold responsibility for all wholesale activities in the Netherlands and Africa. This has been announced by the Executive Board of Rabobank today. Mr Beerman is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rabobank Rotterdam. He has also in recent months served as Programme Chairman for Vision 2016, a programme through which Rabobank is addressing changing customer needs and preparing for the future. Mr Beerman is exceptionally well-suited to this new role due to his experience with the corporate market and internationally-orientated companies in the Rotterdam region.

Mr Coert Beerman began his career at Rabobank in 1983 as a Senior Account Manager at Rabobank Schiedam-Vlaardingen. He served as Director of Commercial Affairs at Rabobank Wateringen-Kwintsheul from 1987 to 1991. He subsequently fulfilled the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors at various Local Member Rabobanks.Mr Beerman has served since 2004 as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Rabobank Rotterdam, which is one of the largest local Rabobanks. Mr Beerman has experienced the great diversity in financial services provided to both retail and business customers in all of these roles.

In his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rabobank Rotterdam, he has contributed to a strong growth for the bank in all market segments. Mr Beerman has furthermore strengthened the bank’s involvement with the local society during this period.

Mr Beerman has always actively participated in networks and committees inside and outside the bank. He currently serves as a Supervisory Director at De Efteling, a member of the Public Interest Committee at Baker Tilly Berk and Chairman of the Stichting Vriendenfonds Sint Franciscus Gasthuis Rotterdam (Friends of the Sint Franciscus Gasthuis Hospital Rotterdam Foundation).

Coert Beerman will report to Jan van Nieuwenhuizen, Member of the Rabobank Executive Board.
