ORLEN Strengthens Small-Scale LNG Market Position with Over 245,000 Tonnes Delivered in 2025

(IN BRIEF) ORLEN delivered more than 245,000 tonnes of small-scale LNG to customers in 2025, reinforcing its strong position in the Polish market and its growing presence in the Baltic region. Supplied from the Świnoujście terminal, the Klaipėda reloading facility and ORLEN’s own production sites, the LNG supported industrial users, businesses and private consumers, particularly in areas with limited access to gas infrastructure. Full utilisation of reloading capacity at Świnoujście and increased volumes at Klaipėda highlight the rising importance of LNG in ensuring energy security, meeting peak demand and supporting the energy transition in industry and transport.

(PRESS RELEASE) PŁOCK, 14-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ORLEN further strengthened its position in the small-scale LNG market in 2025, delivering more than 245,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas to customers. This volume would be sufficient to supply all households in a city of around 200,000 inhabitants for nearly five years, underlining the growing role of LNG in ensuring secure and flexible energy supplies.

The LNG supplied by ORLEN was sourced primarily from the Świnoujście LNG terminal in Poland, supplemented by volumes from the small-scale LNG reloading facility at the Klaipėda terminal in Lithuania, as well as from the Group’s own production assets. Transported by road tankers, the LNG was delivered to a broad customer base, including industrial users, businesses and private consumers, particularly in regions with limited or no access to the national gas grid.

The majority of LNG volumes marketed by ORLEN originated from seaborne imports handled at the Świnoujście terminal and the Klaipėda reloading facility. Nearly 13,000 tanker trucks were dispatched from these locations in 2025. Additional volumes were supplied from ORLEN’s own production at the Odolanów and Grodzisk Wielkopolski facilities. In total, the Group delivered more than 245,000 tonnes of LNG during the year, comprising 192,000 tonnes from Świnoujście, over 33,000 tonnes from Klaipėda and more than 20,000 tonnes from its domestic production sites.

The scale of deliveries reflects ORLEN’s strong position in the Polish market and its expanding footprint across the Baltic states. Liquefied natural gas plays a critical role in maintaining reliable energy supplies, particularly in areas where gas network infrastructure is limited or constrained. It also supports the energy transition in industry and transport by providing a lower-emission alternative to conventional fuels. ORLEN’s portfolio of LNG import contracts, combined with secured access to reception and reloading infrastructure in Poland and Lithuania, enables the Group to respond effectively to growing customer demand.

In 2025, ORLEN fully utilised the LNG reloading capacity at the Świnoujście terminal, with almost 11,000 tanker trucks departing the facility and delivering 192,000 tonnes of LNG to customers. Since the terminal began operations in 2016, nearly 51,000 tankers have been loaded there, corresponding to around one million tonnes of LNG supplied to the market.

At the Klaipėda terminal, the small-scale LNG reloading facility recorded a 32% year-on-year increase in volumes handled in 2025, resulting in the delivery of more than 8,000 additional tonnes of LNG. From the start of operations in 2020 through the end of 2025, cumulative deliveries from the facility reached nearly 102,000 tonnes.

LNG supplied by ORLEN is used by a wide range of customers, including industrial companies across multiple sectors and private consumers connected to off-grid gas systems, where LNG is regasified at local installations. LNG also plays an important role in regions connected to the gas network but facing demand that exceeds pipeline capacity, with regasification stations helping to balance supply and ensure uninterrupted gas availability.
