New Bechtle Service Combines Transparent Carbon Accounting With Verified Nature Based Offsetting Solutions

(IN BRIEF) Bechtle AG has introduced Bechtle CO₂-Conscious IT, a service that enables customers to offset carbon emissions generated during the manufacture and delivery of IT hardware. Working with climate solutions provider goodcarbon, Bechtle calculates emissions transparently and provides detailed reports that allow organizations to compensate for unavoidable Scope 3 impacts through verified nature-based projects. The initiative supports beyond value chain mitigation aligned with Science Based Targets initiative requirements and forms part of Bechtle’s Climate Strategy 2030/2050, while also helping customers integrate sustainability into IT procurement and carbon accounting practices.

(PRESS RELEASE) NECKARSULM, 20-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Bechtle AG has launched Bechtle CO₂-Conscious IT, a new service designed to support customers in addressing carbon emissions associated with the production and delivery of IT hardware. The initiative expands the company’s sustainability-focused portfolio and aims to help organizations integrate climate considerations into their IT procurement strategies.

Developed in partnership with Berlin-based carbon offsetting specialist goodcarbon, the service combines emissions transparency with access to verified climate projects. Bechtle calculates the carbon footprint generated during manufacturing and logistics processes and provides customers with detailed documentation outlining the results. Based on these reports, organizations can decide to offset the calculated emissions through selected environmental initiatives administered by goodcarbon.

Transparent Measurement and Verified Climate Action

The collaboration relies on goodcarbon’s Nature Analytics Framework, which is used to design, evaluate, and monitor nature-based solutions. This methodology is intended to ensure high standards of quality, traceability, and measurable environmental outcomes. Climate projects are assessed not only for their emissions reduction potential, but also for contributions to biodiversity and social benefits.

The selected initiatives are structured to support beyond value chain mitigation activities, enabling companies to contribute to climate action outside their own operational boundaries while continuing to prioritize direct emissions reductions. Such activities may include financing renewable energy, protecting or restoring ecosystems, removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, or supporting emissions-avoidance programs in developing regions.

Supporting Corporate Climate Strategies and Scope 3 Reporting

Bechtle positions the new offering as a practical tool for organizations seeking to meet climate targets and address Scope 3 emissions under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. These indirect emissions, generated upstream in supply chains, are often difficult to eliminate entirely despite improvements in production and procurement practices.

By integrating emissions accounting and offsetting options into IT purchasing workflows, Bechtle CO₂-Conscious IT enables companies to incorporate unavoidable hardware-related emissions into their carbon management strategies in a structured and transparent manner.

Part of Bechtle’s Long-Term Climate Roadmap

The launch also aligns with Bechtle’s Climate Strategy 2030/2050 and its Science Based Targets initiative-aligned reduction pathway. In addition to supporting customers, the company intends to work with goodcarbon to compensate for its own unavoidable emissions as part of its broader sustainability commitments.

Through the new service, Bechtle seeks to reinforce its role as a sustainability-oriented IT partner, linking responsible environmental practices with the development of resilient, future-ready technology infrastructures.
